The official Facebook account of the UK Taiko Festival announced the dates of the 11th UK Taiko Festival in 2015 in a post in the UK Taiko Scene Group today:
Hi UK Taiko Scene,
We are extremely pleased to announce details about the 11th UK Taiko Festival; taking place from 3rd – 5th July 2015 the festival will be back in Exeter with our headlining act Ikari Taiko coming all the way from Osaka, Japan, to perform at the Northcott Theatre on Saturday 4th July. Since 1987, Ikari Taiko have been astounding audiences with the burning intensity and sheer spirit of their performances. Ikari Taiko bring top-quality taiko performance to the stage. More than that, though, it’s taiko with a powerful back story. Their performance at 11th UK Taiko Festival is highly significant, as it is the first time the group has performed outside Japan.
As for the rest of the Festival; Feast of Taiko, the youth concert will also take place at the Northcott Theatre on Friday 3rd July and we’ll be taking over the Phoenix Arts Centre on the Saturday and Sunday. There’ll be workshops from world class taiko teachers; Michelle Fujii, Toru Watanabe & Shoji Kameda as well as the Taiko Beats concert on the Saturday afternoon and an extra performance from special guests on the Sunday lunchtime.
